The song was serviced to rhythmic crossover radio stations on February 11, 2008 and was released to Mainstream Top 40 radio stations on February 26, 2008.

"Rock With U" is the third and final single released from "Discipline" in the United Kingdom. It was released on August 18, 2008 as a digital download-only. The single was, unfortunately, another commercial failure for Janet and her label, due to the low promotion given to the track on radios and TV shows. However, it was a Club hit, managing to peak inside the UK Dance top 10, and it was a hit on the R&B Chart, peaking at #4.
